Emblem Story

Through symbols, we can trace our origins and understand the ways of our ancestors. The Kawudi Emblem is a creative reinvention of the Arewa Knot, also known as Dagin Arewa, which Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto adopted as Northern Nigeria’s insignia. The Arewa Knot is a symbol that simply represents "unity in diversity". It is an embodiment of the diverse, complex and abundant heritage in Northern Nigeria and illustrates the coming together of different elements. The Kawudi Emblem was born out of the desire to express the brand's various facets of heritage, luxury and innovation, and was inspired by the ability of the Arewa Knot to express such intricacies. The Arewa Knot was therefore recreated in several steps, through a creative and collaborative process. The Kawudi Emblem is a timeless symbol that represents the brand's core values and purpose.
